HOW TO PLAY?

Sum It Up develops and masters mental addition techniques with tens and units. The aim of the maths game is to calculate the total of the values shown on the slides. The addition games will display a series of tens and unit values for you to keep a running total and become a MyMiniMaths Champion.

HINTS & STRATEGIES FOR ADDITION GAMES

• Keep a running total of the values as they flash up on the screen.
• Decide if you prefer to add the tens first and then the units, or vice-versa.
• Identify patterns in the numbers and how they can fit together, e.g. bonds to 10, 20, etc.
• Remember to include any carried tens onto your running total.
